I have my own virus. t's called 777. drink seven seven & sevens in seven minutes, and you'll be impervious to, ANYTHING !!

I think the question here is if this is possible at all. If it is possible, then it is probably true. I have no idea how that would work, though, as a virus. It would have to be a virus that also did not show up in your computer's control panel under the downloaded programs. When my computer got a nasty virus I found it through the control panel, and I knew it was a virus because when I tried to uninstall it an error message would pop up. In the end, I used some virus remover thing I found online and all was well....

Sure a program could be created that can receive messages/images from a net node somewhere and then insert them in your video buffer, maybe do a BitBlt raster operation at the precise timing needed and your antivirus program may never be aware of it. Of course, it wouldn't need to be a traditional virus, a simple link to a Youtube or flash video imagery could yield the same results without actually being a virus and would be extremely hard to detect.
To detect it, I would think that one way would be to frame buffer say 100 frames at a time to an array and then compare pairs 25 frames apart for video information that is similar yet not anywhere near the content of the frames just prior and right after, if that raises a flag, look another 25 frames ahead and do the comparison process again, if the same result is found then the AV software can block it from playing or give a warning, etc.

So this was the cause of the obesity epidemic here in the states!
Here's how we test, Someone take standard video editing software, insert a command every 25th frame.
We all watch and see what happens. Make it something simple and harmless.
Find out real quick its BS. Same concepts apply, frames per sec, so shouldn't matter if its a video or any form of media from movies, tv, computer, etc.
The virus would just be a delivery method.

I don't know, I would have thought it was all the McDonald's and Burger King advertisements that aired in between the cartoons and Schoolhouse Rock on any given Saturday. At least that is how I was programmed remember it.

Gave you a star cause you mentioned the "pecker" ! the really, really insidious (no relation to darth! : ) part of this is the reason for this virus int he first place. After consulting with Dr Hubert J Farnsworth, the science rockstar and founder of planet express, I have uncovered the real purpose of this virus. it has nothing to do with mind control. it suppresses the taste buds. they're trying to cover-up the fact there is still PLENTY of dolphin in each can of tuna! Yummmers! ..and I don't get the Tella Tubby video. (it could be 'cause I'm high right now??)

I can see it essentially putting you in a state of hypnosis and making you susceptible to suggestions. The heart attack seems like a stretch.

I understand the concept of sub-liminal. I also understand the concept of hypnosis. although alike, the are definitely not the same. the concept of indoctrination is also different, and beyond the capability of even the most sophisticated "virus". making angry monkeys do something they don't want to do never works well. want proof? i can give it to you in three simple lil' letters. D.M.V. You don't WANT to go there, but you HAVE to! no virus.
